Description
Displaying finely crafted details, this vintage coffee table was designed by Illum Wikkelso for Niels Eilersen, circa 1960s. Carrying all the trademarks of classic Scandinavian mid-century design, this teak wood table has a lightweight look due to its slim and open construction.
Danish furniture designer Illum Wikkelsö believed that furniture should be built to last, to indulge the body and to please the eye. He graduated as cabinetmaker in 1940 and after 3 years at the Technical Society School and Danish School of Arts & Crafts he established his own company in Aarhus. Illum’s aesthetic is considered quintessentially Scandinavian, drawing inspiration from natural, organic form and translating it into furniture that closely embraces the human figure while remaining steadfast and durable.
