The John Pawson collection of rugs for Elte draws deeply for its inspiration on the architect’s own home in the Oxfordshire countryside — from the warm tone of its stone, to the geometries of its timbers and brickwork.

The collection is also a profound expression of Pawson’s longstanding preoccupation with rhythm, repetition, pattern and texture. The collection includes rugs made from wool and rugs made from hemp, each meticulously and laboriously fabricated by hand.
